Parker Lot (original concept) |
Tommy is one of the first and almost main characters designed for Parker Lot but was dropped after it began. Tommy was originally a blond boy with a hair cut, which was a mix of Jim's, Matt's, and a little of BuddyComics'. Tom's personality was one of the reasons he was dropped after BuddyComics found trouble adapting him to a simple attitude. BuddyComics also found Tommy not really interesting, and gave his stupidity to Jim, which well-establishes Jim's personality today. While looking through his files and drawing the new looks for the character, BuddyComics noticed an old picture of Tommy and redrew him, hinting a return.
Biography[]
Tommy's first appearance in any work of Parker Lot came in the original concept. His first lines were "I touch myself at night" right after Jim introduces him, Scooter Williams, and "Little Star" Jackson, another character dropped from the final cut. Tommy was part of a group called the Seekrit Bored of Students, led by Jim in the original series, and the six, which consisted of Tommy, Jim, Matt, Scooter, Robby the Robot, and Little Star. Tommy didn't make any appearances after his brief debut in comics but he was one of the main characters drawn in the promo images for the comic, which Little Star, however wasn't listed as a main character.
Personality[]
Tommy had a mixed personality, which BuddyComics calls the reason why he didn't include him in the later comics. His original personality was an idiotic one, where he shouted out random things like "I touch myself at night", but that didn't go well. His second personality was one where all he did was pick his nose and rarely talk. When he would talk, he would say something intelligent, which BuddyComics liked, but this didn't work out either. When Tommy was written out of the comic, his stupidity was given to Jim and his intelligence was given to Scooter, who wasn't portrayed as smart as he originally appeared in the first series of the comic designed.
Appearance[]
Tommy wore a red shirt, sort of like Scooter, which is another reason he was dropped. He wore jeans like the others, except "Little Star" who had shorts. Tommy's hair was what was called "a mix of Matt's, Jim's, and mine" by BuddyComics. He has never changed his outfit and was usually seen picking his nose. His outfit was almost exactly the same as Matt's, with only Tommy's red shirt in place of Matt's trademark green shirt, which has been Matt's distinct look. During his resign in 2010, his nose was changed so it didn't look similar to Scooter's nose and his eyes were made more like Matt and Jim's. The only thing kept the same was his hair and his clothes.
