Desmond the Moon Bear is a character from TomSka's animated short, asdfmovie, which was animated by Edd Gould. Desmond eventually became the most popular character out of the entire cartoon and even got a Twitter, Facebook page, and became an internet meme. Desmond's popularity got him a reference in Matt on the Moon, where he somehow snuck on board of the rocket and made it to Earth with the three boys and screamed out "I have finally reached civilization!", a reference to the movie.
